About FW23 Just Like Heaven Collection

The 80s were a time of cultural rebellion, and the goth music scene that emerged during this period was no exception. With its moody, melancholic melodies and dark, dramatic aesthetics, goth music became a defining feature of the era's counterculture. This collection is an homage to the designer’s love for 80’s goth music such as The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Cocteau Twins, and Bauhaus. 

 

The collection takes inspiration from the dark, romantic atmosphere of goth music, blending it with contemporary fashion sensibilities to create a collection that is both timeless and current.

At the heart of the collection is a focus on dramatic silhouettes and luxurious fabrics. Long flowing dresses with high necks and billowing sleeves evoke the ethereal quality of goth music, while black velvet and silk add a touch of glamour and sophistication to the pieces. In keeping with the goth aesthetic, the color palette is predominantly black, red, and rich burgundies with occasional touches of deep purples and midnight blues.

 

While the collection takes inspiration from the goth subculture of the 80s, it is also designed to be wearable and versatile. Many of the pieces can be dressed up or down, allowing them to be worn for a variety of occasions. 

Also true to One Off Ones DNA, the pieces in the collection aren’t designed with any gender in mind; the entire collection was shot on both female and male models to reinforce the fluidity of the collection.
